Inspire Me Thursday -- Child's Play

The stars were her playmates.

Bluejay

There's a bluejay trapped in the garage just above my workspace. He's been out there for about an hour and he's scared out of his wits and the evidence to prove this is all over the place. So I removed the work I don't want pooped on and left him alone to find his way out
Update:
The above mentioned bluejay has flown to freedom with a little help from me.

Illustration Friday -- The opposite of knowing is not knowing

As she looked up at the stars she thought about what she would do with her life.

This is a detail of a mixed media piece I did a little while ago.

This is the cover for an altered board book that I'm working on. The image is a graphite drawing I did using the tape transfer method.

Seek

Once upon a time there was a girl who did not know what direction her life should take. One day she decided to ask someone for help. "What path should I take?" She asked. "Only you can decide what path is right for you. Go seek and you shall find what it is you are supposed to do."

Inspire Me Thursday -- Numeral Art

Numbers make me think of time and just how fleeting it is.
I also tried the image transfer using the tape transfer method. I drew a face in graphite never expecting it to transfer but it did beautifully. I'm new to the altered/collage art scene only having just discovered it recently. This type of art is so different from what I'm used to doing and I'm absolutely hooked!

The last few days have been dull, wet and dreary. After having so many lovely days and evenings this weather leaves me feeling a little depressed. And to add to it, the police believe they may have found the remains of Dale and Kim.

Illustration Friday -- Sacrifice

When I think of sacrifice, the sacrifices a mother makes for her child comes to mind.

Blessing Moon

Monday night was the perfect summer evening. The air was warm, the wind was still and the moon was full. The neighborhood was completely quiet as the fire crackled in our outdoor fireplace and the moths flitted around the faery lights.

All Done

I finally finished painting my cupboards! I love how bright and cheerful my kitchen is now. Despite all the work involved, it was worth it.
